Back safe-----sort of
Yes peeps. Got back safe and sound yesterday morning. The flight was ineventful. That goes for the food and the onboard entertainment. One women sitting beside me took il and needed oxygen. that was the sum of the entertainment value. (she was OK after the oxygen, probably the excitement about flying to Ireland that did it)
As for me. Once I got home I went to bed for a wee while. the next thing i know is my wife is looking at me, not in wonderment that I am home, but to ask me am I alright. I try to speak but this pain shoots through my mouth. that means one thing and one thing only. Something that hasn't happened to me for 15 years. I had had a grand mal seizure. According to my wife I was unconscious for about 45 minutes. Scary or what. I am just getting over the effects now 24 hours after the event. Queswtion. Do I tell the doctor or just treat it as a one of hoping that it won't happen again? I know that the medication I am on works as it has been so long since I have had one of these seizures.
Apart from that, it looks as though all the shopping choices I made for my family went down well. Everybody likes it when I go away. They say I am the best at bringing presents home from my little trips away. (or is it the fact that i have to buy something really good otherwise I won't be allowed to go away again) Anyway, while I was away I managed to get some Xmas shopping done. That means something less to worry about later on. I even found something for me. I always ask for peace and goodwill to all mankind. This year I am asking for a book. Not just any book. This book is a 1,000 page 2 volume edition of the entire works of that maddest of Mad Comic genius, Don Martin. Everything he has ever done. As a young man/teenager/boy I grew up reading Mad magazine and always the first pages I went to was the Don Martin pages. I have never seen anyone match his zany style or outlook on life. I hope that Santa is reading this just in case my wife hasn't got the hint. We will wait and see.
The one BIG disappointment that i got while away. I found out at the airport that in order to claim back the tax on my purchases they have moved the goalposts. It used to be that you could claim on anything as long as the receipt was over $50.00. Now you have to have one receipt that is over $625.00. Who is going to spend that sort of money in one store? I spent about $1500.00 in total trying to make sure that most receipts added up to over the $50.00 mark. imagine my frustration when i find out this news. Fecker's. Do they not know who I am?
Back to work tomorrow all being well. My holidays are over for at least 6 months. Maybe more. I do have something in mind for next year but nothing is set in stone as yet. It is going to be a big one anyway. It will be to celebrate my/our silver wedding anniversary. My wife doesn't know yet so don't mention it to anyone. The world is a small place and getting smaller all the time. It is only 6 steps away from you knowing the entire world if you know what I mean (you know someone who knows someone who knows someone etc etc)
i am sitting here doing this and listening to one of my purchases from Canada. I bought a Jeff Healey Band CD and it is great. he can certainly play some guitar. i also bought a load of Canadian Collectable CD's of the Rolling Stones. Of course, these will all be filed, stored and looked at admiringly from time to time. Never played. Just looked at.
I actually came home with cash from this trip. something that rarely if ever happens. i asked my daughter to take it to the bank for me while she was out. (they don't charge her commission as she gets student rates) She has just returned and given me a load of cash which will do nicely sir thank you very much. This will be known as spare cash as I had it put away some months ago especially for this trip. I might even buy some more rolling Stones records on Ebay with it or maybe get some Vodka in. Who knows.
i am away to read my new book now. It arrived while I was away. It is an autobiography on Ronnie Wood. Interesting or what? i will let you know.
Cheers for now.

I want to be a mountie------
Oh, I want to be a Mountie and always catch my man/woman. There are so many beautiful girls over here in mountie land that I wish I was 35 years younger. Then they would know who i am. At the moment they don't seem to have a clue as to whoi am, even though I send my friends in in front of me. I will have to think a lot harder about this when I get home. One thing that there is no shortage of is Vodka. And more Vodka. Great innit?
Now that my holiday is nearly over I am busy shopping around for things totake home to my family. So far so good. I have even tried to buy stuff formyself but I find that the styles here are a wee tad behind what I am after. (by about a bizillion years) Not only that, the prices for things pertaining to gentlemmens clothing is not cheap. for instance. Today i was looking at a pair of boots (Idon't wear shoes) and they looked OK. Itried them on. They felt OK. I looked at the price. $695.00 PLUS TAXES. I don't think so mate. I don't feckin' think so at all. I will go to my man at home when Iget back. Apart from that things are cheaper here. Especially electrics. Case. Went to Sears. Ipod for $289.00 including tax. Went to another store whose name I can't remember. Same Ipod $229.00 including tax. $60.00 difference. That works out at 6/7/8/9 or so Vodkas. Where did I buy the Ipod. Well, I'm drinking Vodka at the moment. Does that give you a clue?
All being well we are heading off to Niagra tomorrow. Maybe even stay overnight. Play the casino maybe. Win some money maybe. Lose some money probably. See the falls at night all lit up. Go back to toronto. Pack our bags. come home. Sleep for a week. go back to work. Start saving for next years holiday. It's a viscious circle isn't it/
Cheers

Weather forecast
I have mailed my mate in Canada for an advance weather forecast because this time next week I, sorry we as in me and another mate, will be flying over the big pond for a couple of weeks for a long boys weekend. Not as long as john Lennon's but longer that the usual 3 day weekend.
Whilst there of course I will visit my father who just happens to live out in the same direction as my friend. He hasn't been very well recently so I will have to make sure beforehand that it is OK for me to call.
Also while I am there i will be visiting the record dealers. Every time I go out there I manage to pick something up to add to my ever increasing Rolling Stones collection. (much to my wife's displeasure). I will have to counter attack by bringing something extra extra nice back with me for her. After all it is very good of her to let me go for so long without wanting to come with me. (I know the secret, she doesn't like long haul flights. Next year we are all meeting up in Brazil)(maybe get 3 weeks out of it!!!)
Talking about adding stuff to my collection. Some guy put 5 very rare 7" vinyl bootleg singles onto Ebay. I put my bids on all of them. But, because he had put them all on at the same time I couldn't creep on any of them (bid on the last second). Imagine my surprise when i won 4 of the 5 items. I was absolutely thrilled. I even told my wife. She fell asleep! So now, all that I have to wait for is the feckin' post office gets back to work. Do they not realize who I am? Like, DUH!!!
It is our Silver Wedding next year. I had had thoughts about re-doing our wedding vows and then having a charity party. No No No That was the response I got yesterday when I sort of broached the subject after seeing something similar on TV. She wouldn't like it. She did hint at me what she would like though. Tell you all about it when it all comes to fruition.
I got my stitches out on Thursday last. My hand is getting better day by day. I still can't make a fist though. Still a few twinges but nothing serious.
I'll go now because CSI is coming on and Grissom is going to find out who did it, as usual!
Cheers

I'm bored!
Yes, I'm bored so I thought I would gabble on a bit here while I wait for my favorite TV programme to come on.
I went to the BBQ the other day after all. It was a good time but still cold. Glad I put my Winter coat on. Can you imagine some of the looks I got while I was walking down the street. Dressed in my special bright blazing BBQ shirt (bright green artichokes all over) with i#jeans wearing a black crombie coat and black fedora. I'm glad in a way that I decided not to wear my shorts and sandles. Anyway, a good time was had by all.
I'm telling the dog to be quiet. I like the sound of fireworks even if she doesn't. Although I do think it is still a wee tad early for them. But, the morons who are letting them off seem to have more money to waste than sense. Sorry, they have no sense at all.
Looked at the TV there and then looked at the clock. I still have some time to waste. I know, I'll go and make myself a cup of tea.
Done that, sitting down in a grumpy mood now. My son or someone else like my son has eaten all the feckin' good biscuits. Now i have a luverly cuppa but no biccies to dunk into it. One needs something to dunk with.
I think with the time left before my programme comes on I will check out my items on Ebay and see how much money I am going to make or spend, depending on which way things go.
